Construction: Contact Uss Ex Port of Lyttelton pilot cutter MV Wairangi was launched in 1934. Built strongly at Port Chalmers by Miller and Tunnage she has been maintained to exacting survey standards throughout her life. Her 60' x 14' 6" x 6'ft hull is solid kauri. The deck cabins are teak and the lounge is burr-walnut lined and inlaid. She has all navigation aids, a Gardner engine, and a range of 600 miles.

Equipment: Wairangi is in superb condition. She is a very safe sea boat, gracious, comfortable and quiet. She can carry 40 people on the coast, 22 to offshore islands and 8 to the Three Kings Islands and Poor Knights Rise.There is sleeping accommodation for up to 15 people, a warm shower, and a toilet. Catering is available if required, or choose self-catering USING THE FULLY-EQUIPPED GALLEY ON BOARD. Snorkelling gear can also be rented for a small charge.
